The Town Clerk's Office is the doorway to local government
The Town Clerk's Office serves as the central information point for residents and visitors alike. As the local arm of the Secretary of State's Office, The Town Clerk serves as the Public Information and Legislative Administrator, Chief Elections Officer and Local Registrar of Vital Records. This is a multifaceted position requiring excellent management and interpersonal skills.
The Clerk's Office maintains the Town and Zoning Bylaws, the official Town bulletin board, oaths of office, appointments and resignations of all Town Officials. The Clerk's Office issues state licenses and permits, including marriage licenses, business licenses & renewals, various sporting licenses, dog licenses, fuel storage licenses, raffle/bazaar permits and certified requests for public documents.
