Burn Permits

Brush burning season in Massachusetts begins on January 15th.

Residents of West Stockbridge can burn brush (nothing over 4") from January 15th through the end of April, weather permitting.

If you want to burn, you must obtain a Burn Permit from one of the following stores: Public Market on Main Street or Baldwin's Hardware on Center Street.

There is a $2.00 charge for a Burn Permit and the permit is good for two (2) consecutive days.

Hours of burning are from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

No one will be issued a burn permit by telephone.

If you have any questions about the procedure or have concerns about someone burning, please speak to Fire Chief Skorput directly at (413) 232-7853.
