Berkshire Regional Transit (BRTA) Information

The Berkshire Regional Transportation Authority (BRTA) fleet includes vans and chair cars specifically designed for passengers eligible for ADA services. These vehicles offer services from the starting point to the final destination, known as "curb to curb" service, with a focus on convenience at no extra cost.

Paratransit transportation services are available to assist individuals in reaching medical appointments, shopping centers, work, and school. Eligibility for these services depends on a person's mobility and functional ability to navigate the fixed route service. There are two types of eligibility:

Unconditional: Granted to individuals whose mobility prevents them from using the bus service for any trips.

Conditional: Granted to those who can use buses under certain circumstances but require paratransit service in specific conditions, such as inclement weather or barriers to a particular trip or bus.

For scheduling ADA or non-ADA rides, individuals can call (413) 499-2782, Option 3.

ADA Fares:

Local (in town): $2.50

Local (in town + adjoining town): $3.50

Systemwide (in town + 2 towns): $7.50

Systemwide (maximum fare): $9.00

All ADA trips provide origin-to-destination service within the BRTA fixed route service area.
